Working Poor Tax Credit
You can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $400 on your Arizona state income tax for making a charitable contribution to a qualifying charitable organization – like Chrysalis.
The Working Poor Tax Credit is a separate credit from the State School Tax Credit and eligible taxpayers can claim both the Working Poor and School Tax Credits.
Why should you make a charitable contribution to Chrysalis?
The tax credit will reduce your tax liability dollar-for-dollar (e.g. what you give the State goes to your favorite charity instead). You may claim this credit in addition to other types of tax credits (School Tax Credit).
Your contribution directly touches the lives of over 1,400 adults and children affected by domestic abuse.
Things you should know:
* There is no longer any baseline amount, 1996 or otherwise.
* The credit can only be taken if the taxpayer itemizes
deductions in the taxable year.
* You may claim this credit in addition to other types of tax credits.
* Your contribution must be made during the calendar year.
* Chrysalis is not a tax advisor.
You should consult your tax advisor about this tax credit.
You may contact the Arizona Department of Revenue at 602-255-3381.
